There’s always such a frenzy of anticipation for Shoetopia, and Sax Shepard is part of the fray with these sexy Caress Stiletto Sandals. They work with the Slink enhanced feet system and with all the skin appliers, they always look flawless. The HUD is outstanding with hundreds of color and texture combinations and all sorts of features I’ve never seen in a HUD before. Be sure to look for these and his other offerings at the event. Shoetopia is open today at noon on the Shoetopia 1 and Shoetopia 2 sims. I have an invisible avatar folder I wear when I brave the lag at huge events, so IM me in world (Rainey Manx) and I’ll pass one to you.

Sometimes the universe just lines up. The Meshworx Vintage Pin Up furniture now out at the Men’s Department just MADE my art studio in the loft of the Urban Oasis build. I would love to have this furniture in my real life office. This is one of the poses in the chair and it worked out perfectly for this quoteable. I also found all these art supplies at Keke that I HAD to have. I hope my smart-alec quote made you smile today.
Art Supplies: Keke Gatchas – Inks Trays, Pens & Bottles
Coffee Cup & Saucer: Atmosphere Works * Indoor Plant: Forest Floor – Potted Scrub Maple
Another round of FaMESHed will open tomorrow and Loz Hyde at Meshworx does NOT disappoint, so beautiful with materials showing. The Rebekah set includes a sofa and a chair with 11 different texture options as well as a naughty or a nice choice in animations. It’s time to redecorate for fall, but I’m keeping spring inside for a little longer. I’m always a weather rebel. I’m also sporting the new Leila skin from Belleza. You can’t really see it in this post but I shant be taking it off soon, I’m sure some Flickr pics will show up this week.

When I was young, my grandma had a sofa with a wooden frame somewhat like this one but she didn’t call it a sofa or a couch. She called it a davenport, or its affectionate family name, the Davenno. Even at five years old I thought that was so very fancy. The Area 51 theme at Garden event by The Liaison Collaborative was so apropos with last week’s announcement that yes, Area 51 is real. The late night radio UFO people have got to be ecstatic.
I have a more earthly depiction of all things alien because this set from DIGS is so ME…with the greatest davenno in SL. You can get all the details at the DIGS website and you can purchase this set at The Garden until next month. Available in PG and Adult versions, with single and couples poses in the couch and chairs. The couch has couples poses for MF, FF and MM couples. You can sit, recline, surf the net, drink coffee, eat popcorn, cuddle, or get intimate with this varied and versatile “click & sit” engine. The set is also easily customized. There are a selection of wood and fabric textures included in the couch, chair, table and lamp, within access-controlled texture menus.
You can also see a little glimpse of the new Gos Boutique shoes, the Paris Peeptoes. Deliciously detailed, I specifically love the heart shaped peep. They come in multiple colors and uses the Colour+ technology in patent leather, or silk…very hard to choose, you should just get both sets. Cute with jeans and a button down orrrrr your favorite silkies. This release also includes a separate Sapphire Paris that will be available as a PDSA fundraiser item. Great organization for a great cause, you can find out more about it at the permanent kiosk at Gos’ store.
Oh and I have a little tip about finding the Picnic dress at Gizza if you’re using the Firestorm viewer. Click on World -> Area Search -> type the word picnic in the Name box -> Click the Search button. The system will search for anything with picnic on the sim and then you check the Show Beacons box in the bottom right corner and you’ll see some blue crosshairs where the Picnic dresses are located. It REALLY saves time when you’re in a very large store with not a lot of time to look around

Bookcase, Couch, Chair, Coffee Table, Lamp: DIGS at The Garden * Pose: I used the couples cuddle pose and just let the dog jump up under my arm
This month’s FaMeshed is in full swing and I just had a couple of things from the Kings of Mesh to show off so you can get over there. First off, Loz Hyde from Meshworx made this beautiful bamboo collection called Macau. The materials viewer shows off the subtle gloss as you move around the room. The chair and table are sold separately, and the container they come in is also a picture frame. Just drag and drop your fave photo on the frame and viola! They are copy/mod as well. Next up, Gospel Voom from Gos has the gorgeous Lauren d’Orsay shoes in Silver that go with just about anything except pj bottoms. As usual his work is flawless.

How old were you when you realized that Fairy Tales were psychological jokes of unfulfilled expectations? Not signing up for Happily Ever After isn’t a bad thing, it’s actually quite healthy in dealing with this tragic thing called life. The well crafted stories are written by authors that have no problem throwing their heroes into mortal danger because that is what our problem solving minds want. The sport is waiting to see when and if the author is going to give our protagonist a reprieve every now and then. It’s never easy, but I choose interesting every time.
I think the most epic stories are those where the antagonists and the protagonists switch it up because that’s what happens in real life, doesn’t it? Situations present themselves and we make choices and not always the best choices. The victory is learning not to have our minds so set that we can’t see the soft spot in the heart of the bad guy. So does the story change, or does our way of thinking change? I don’t know about you, but I’ve learned so much by finding my way out of bad decisions that were some of my own and some that others made for me.
Life is so much more than the elusive Fairy Tale.
